In 2027, the geographic coordinates of China's chemical equipment exports are shifting westward
Driven by four demand waves — global chemical capacity shifting east, resource-rich Middle East countries extending into downstream chemicals, Southeast Asia absorbing basic chemical capacity, and Europe/US retrofitting aging plants for green production — reinforced by policy tailwinds from the Belt and Road Initiative, RCEP tariff benefits, and China's 15th Five-Year Plan, China's chemical equipment exports have completed a three-stage leap: from piecemeal exports of single components, to EPC turnkey delivery of complete plants, to an integrated layout of process technology, equipment standards, and full-lifecycle operation and maintenance services — cementing China's position as the world's largest chemical equipment producer and exporter.
As China's chemical capacity structure keeps upgrading, going global, breaking through at the high end, and cross-regional synergy have become the core tracks for leading enterprises to navigate market cycles. In 2026–2027, Chinese-contracted or fully supplied chemical projects are coming online in dense succession across the five Central Asian countries and Russia.
Projects are in the west, manufacturing is in the east — and Xinjiang sits exactly at the midpoint of this corridor. The 2027 Xinjiang International Petrochemical & Chemical Technology and Equipment Expo (CTEF Xinjiang) will be held on July 15–17, 2027 at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Central Asia & Russia: Projects Ramping Up, Demand for EPC and Complete Equipment Sets Released in Concentrated Waves
Central Asia is one of the world's most resource-rich regions for energy and minerals. Kazakhstan's proven oil reserves stand at around 30 billion barrels, ranking among the global top 15; Turkmenistan's proven natural gas reserves of roughly 19.5 trillion cubic meters have long held fourth place worldwide. The five Central Asian countries have deep industrial foundations in petrochemicals, coal chemicals, salt chemicals and chlor-alkali. Russia, as one of the world's leading energy producers and exporters, is turning decisively east — purchasing chemical and energy equipment from China, with the number of Russian buyers growing year by year.
Procurement patterns are changing too. In 2026, chemical technology and equipment procurement across Central Asia and Russia is shifting from single machines to entire production lines, with accompanying requirements for standards conversion, construction and commissioning, and spare parts supply. A wave of projects — from coal chemicals, petrochemicals, phosphorus chemicals, urea and chlor-alkali to green aviation fuel — has entered the design, procurement and construction stage, releasing clear demand for equipment.

Xinjiang: The Core Hub of China's Chemical Equipment Going Global

For equipment makers, whether orders land efficiently depends on the combined effect of transport corridors, hinterland markets, and policy support.
1. Corridor capacity keeps rising:
From January to July, 4,334 China-Europe freight trains passed through Alashankou, up 22.2% year on year, ranking first among national railway ports; "direct port clearance" has cut export truck customs time from 2–3 days to 0.5–1.5 days.
2. Hinterland market expands fast:
On October 12, Ningxia Baofeng Group and Turpan signed an RMB 88 billion major investment agreement in Yinchuan to deepen cooperation on clean and efficient coal utilization — one of the largest coal chemical deals in China at the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and a key anchor for Baofeng's westward expansion. Total investment in oil, gas and chemical projects under construction or planned across Xinjiang exceeds RMB 800 billion, corresponding to equipment procurement demand of over RMB 250 billion. Demand is concentrated in four zones — Zhundong, Hami, Korla and Yili — as projects such as Shandong Energy Wucaiwan and Dongming Plastic coal-to-olefins, CHN Energy Hami coal-to-oil, Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim ethylene, and Yitai coal-to-oil enter installation and mechanical completion phases.
3. Policy effects compound:
The 15th Five-Year Plan for Oil & Gas Development explicitly advances the Zhundong and Hami coal-to-oil/gas strategic bases, while institutional innovations in the Xinjiang Pilot Free Trade Zone continue to land.
4. Export momentum builds steadily:
In the first eight months, Xinjiang's foreign trade reached RMB 394.7 billion, up 10.7%; the top three markets were the five Central Asian countries, ASEAN and Russia, with Belt & Road partner countries accounting for 87.6% of the region's total trade.
CTEF 2027 Xinjiang: Helping Companies Build Their Footprint in Xinjiang and the Eurasian Market
The 2027 Xinjiang International Petrochemical & Chemical Technology and Equipment Expo is expected to cover 40,000 square meters, bring together 500+ global exhibitors, and attract 30,000+ professional buyers from 14 countries in the Belt & Road core region.

The 2027 Xinjiang International Petrochemical & Chemical Equipment Expo (CTEF) will bring together nearly 500 quality domestic and international companies. Exhibits cover all the demand segments above across the full chemical industry chain: petrochemical equipment, chemical unit equipment, pumps/valves/pipelines, automation and instrumentation, laboratory instruments and equipment, coal chemical equipment, chlor-alkali plant equipment, smart factories and digital solutions, environmental treatment technology and equipment, and new chemical materials and fine chemicals.

Face the core buyers, connect with real demand. The 2027 Xinjiang International Petrochemical & Chemical Equipment Expo (CTEF) will closely follow Xinjiang's chemical industry upgrade needs, with buyer resources covering domestic and international oil/gas chemical, coal chemical, fine chemical, chlor-alkali and engineering companies. It will key in 500+ petrochemical and energy enterprises including Xinjiang Oilfield, Xinjiang Zhongtai, Tarim Oilfield Company and Lantian Tunhe; 40+ Xinjiang energy and heavy chemical industrial parks such as Zhundong, Hami, Kuitun-Dushanzi and Karamay Petrochemical; 100+ design institutes and engineering contractors including CNPC, Sinopec, China Tianchen and Huatai; and 50+ international buyer delegations from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and beyond — offering exhibitors precise and efficient matchmaking opportunities.
Rooted in Xinjiang, connecting Central Asia and Russia. Xinjiang is not only an investment hotspot — it is the bridgehead of the Belt and Road leading to the energy and chemical markets of Central Asia and Russia. CTEF 2027 has specially invited international purchasing delegations from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and beyond, bringing real demand to the show, and helping China's quality equipment and services reach the wider global market through the Xinjiang corridor.

Stay ahead of technology, read the industry trend. The concurrent "Xinjiang Coal Chemical Innovation & Green Development Forum" will gather over 100 industry authorities and leading company representatives to tackle pain points in coal chemical wastewater — difficult high-salt treatment, high energy consumption, scaling and high costs — and drive the engineering adoption of key technologies including membrane concentration, evaporation crystallization, heat pump distillation, high-efficiency heat exchange and salt-splitting resource recovery, helping companies achieve environmental compliance, water saving and carbon reduction, and cost-efficiency gains. The forum will analyze practical large-scale, low-carbon and high-end development pathways suited to Xinjiang's resource endowment, empowering the region's coal chemical industry toward green, low-carbon, safe, efficient and sustainable high-quality growth through technological innovation.
Exhibition recruitment is now in full swing, with limited premium booths remaining in the core zones.
