The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have issued the 15th Five-Year Plan for Oil and Natural Gas Development, proposing strategic coal-to-oil and coal-to-gas bases in Xinjiang's Zhundong and Hami — further cementing Xinjiang's position in the national energy landscape.

 As a key Belt and Road node and a national energy base, Xinjiang is accelerating the rollout of coal chemical, green hydrogen, new material and CCUS demonstration projects across coal-to-oil/gas, olefins, green hydrogen, green ammonia, lithium battery materials and fine chemicals. Driven by the national aid-Xinjiang policy and the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative, the region's chemical industry is shifting rapidly toward digital, green, intelligent and safe development, with facility upgrades and new mega-projects advancing in parallel.

Against this backdrop, the 2027 Xinjiang International Chemical Technology & Equipment Expo (CTEF Xinjiang) will be held from July 15–17, 2027 at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center. Under the theme "Connecting Global Chemical Equipment, Unlocking Xinjiang and the Asia–Europe Market," the expo spans 40,000 sqm with 500+ global exhibitors and is expected to draw 30,000+ professional buyers from 14 Belt and Road core countries — a one-stop strategic platform for global chemical equipment companies to enter Xinjiang and the wider Asia–Europe market, integrating brand promotion, technical exchange and business matchmaking.
