Recently, a delegation from the CTEF China Chemical Equipment Exhibition Organizing Committee visited Russia for several days for business exchanges. As a significant force in the global chemical industry, Russia boasts a robust chemical industry foundation thanks to its abundant oil, natural gas, and other mineral resources. In recent years, it has continuously strengthened its efforts in basic chemicals, fertilizers, and chlor-alkali sectors, experiencing strong market demand, particularly for high-end chemical equipment and technologies. This has made Russia a key target market for Chinese chemical equipment companies seeking to expand overseas. The organizing committee aimed to consolidate existing cooperation, explore potential opportunities, and build a more solid bridge for deeper cooperation between the Chinese and Russian chemical equipment industries.

The first stop was a meeting between the organizing committee and H Media. H Media is a leading Russian media outlet focusing on the chemical and rubber/plastics industry. It owns top-tier industry journals, online platforms, and offline networks, and is committed to building efficient communication bridges between government and businesses, covering nearly 80% of Russia's chemical production and equipment procurement companies.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on the overseas promotion of the CTEF exhibition and the organization of Russian companies' participation. H Media clearly stated that it will fully leverage its resources to comprehensively promote the CTEF China Chemical Equipment Exhibition and its Russian overseas exhibitions to its members, organize high-quality Russian chemical and rubber, plastics companies to participate and visit, and assist CTEF in establishing regular business matchmaking channels in Russia.

Following this, the organizing committee communicated with the Indian Council for the Promotion of Exports of Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics and Dyes (CHEMEXCIL). CHEMEXCIL is a core industry organization in India's chemical and related sectors, representing the interests of nearly 10,000 Indian chemical companies and playing a crucial role in promoting trade cooperation and technological exchange between India and the global chemical industry.
Through the discussions, CHEMEXCIL expressed its intention to recommend high-quality Indian chemical companies to participate in the CTEF series of exhibitions, leveraging the CTEF platform to connect with advanced global chemical equipment resources.

During the core enterprise visit session, the organizing committee held a key meeting with the head of equipment procurement at UralChem. As Russia's largest producer of ammonium nitrate and potash fertilizer, UralChem holds a significant position in the global fertilizer market, ranking among the world's top producers in terms of annual capacity. Its need for equipment upgrades and technological advancements is urgent.
UralChem had already visited CTEF Shanghai and Chengdu in 2025, gaining a direct and profound understanding of the technological strength of China's chemical equipment industry. Following this communication, UralChem further clarified its plan to organize its core procurement team to participate in CTEF China Chemical Equipment Exhibition and the 2026 Russian overseas exhibition. They also plan to participate in the overseas chemical enterprise procurement exchange and matchmaking days held during CTEF exhibitions, prioritizing procurement connections with domestic exhibitors recommended by CTEF.

Following this, the organizing committee visited the Russian Chlor-Alkali Association. The association is the authoritative core organization in the Russian chlor-alkali industry, with members encompassing the vast majority of chlor-alkali producers, equipment suppliers, and technology research and development institutions within Russia. It holds absolute influence in industry standard setting, policy coordination, and market resource integration.
Dr. Boris Yagud (second from left), Vice President of the association and also Vice President of the Russian Chemists Union, warmly welcomed the CTEF organizing committee and provided a detailed overview of the current state of the Russian chlor-alkali industry. He noted that Russia currently ranks among the top ten globally in chlor-alkali production capacity, with steady growth in the output of products such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and caustic soda. However, core equipment such as high-end electrolyzers and membrane separation equipment still rely on imports. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on "technology matching and exhibition cooperation." The Russian Chlor-Alkali Association will mobilize all its members to participate in and visit the exhibition, jointly promoting technological integration and trade cooperation between the chlor-alkali industries of the two countries.
Building on the fruitful results of this visit, CTEF2026, an overseas exhibition, will be held from August 26-28, 2026 at the Kazan International Exhibition Center in Russia. As an important platform for cooperation between China and Russia in the chemical equipment industry, the exhibition will bring together high-quality chemical equipment companies, buyers, and industry experts from around the world, creating an international platform integrating product display, technical exchange, and business matchmaking.

Approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the China International Chemical Technology & Equipment Fair (CTEF) has developed into a core platform connecting global chemical technology and equipment innovation. It will be held for the 18th time in 2026. The expo focuses on eight major sectors: core chemical process equipment and unit operations, special materials and corrosion protection for chemical equipment, chemical process safety and explosion-proof technology and equipment, fluid transportation equipment, smart chemistry and digital transformation, instrumentation and automation systems, chemical process R&D and analysis, and chemical environmental protection technology and equipment. It attracts over a thousand leading companies from more than 20 countries and regions.
Currently, CTEF has attracted a professional visiting delegation from well-known Russian chemical companies, providing Chinese companies with opportunities to expand into overseas markets.

In the future, the CTEF organizing committee will continue to cultivate overseas markets, taking this visit to Russia as an opportunity to further integrate global chemical industry resources, help Chinese chemical equipment companies go global and expand their overseas territories, and promote the high-quality development of China's chemical equipment industry in the international market.
